This is the 10-inch tablet that was unveiled, by MSI, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. It seems that there were many tablets on display, but, with the frensy of the upcoming iPad in full swing, everyone seemed to be on hold until they could actually see what Apple would offer. Now that the iPad has been confirmed, everyone seems to be ready to give the other slate tablets a fair look-see. One of the many overlooked devices was MSI’s 10-inch tablet. MSI has made a good name for themselves by putting out quality netbooks, video cards and other products for the last few years.
The MSI tablet is a 10-inch touchscreen display model, this widescreen model will be capable of handling 1080p HD video. It is built on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset, which should mean this device will have a decent battery life. It will be running a customised Google Android, enabling it to adapt to the larger tablet form factor, with hopefully the support for Adobe Flash. The Adroid use should give full support for multitasking.
The specifications are said to be “flexible” and the company will “launch different models based on market demand.”
This Tegra-powered machine is looking to be around the $500 price range at this point. It is expected to be available in the second half of this year.
